1663 – designed the Pembroke College Chapel in Cambridge


1664 – did the design for the Sheldonian Theatre, Oxford


1665 – designed the buildings for Trinity College in Oxford


1666 – great fire struck London so he replanned the city and started off supervising the rebuilding of 51 churches

– made a new design for St. Paul’s Cathedral



– since the plan went through a long process he only began working on the St. Paul’s Cathedral in 1670



– president of Royal Society

1723 – died after introducing the forms of new age (Renaissance) design to the vocabulary of English architecture
