1929 – Born in Berlin, Germany. German chemical ecologist, entomologist, and naturalist.
1933 – Eisner emigrated with his family to Barcelona, Spain, then to France and then Uruguay.
1948-1955 – He went to the United States, and was a research associate at Harvard, where he worked with socio-biologist E O Wilson.
1957 – He joined Cornell, where he made major contributions to studies of insect physiology, adaptation, and behavior, particularly web-making communication in spiders, and the spraying defenses of the bombardier beetle.
