Eberle, Edward Walter

1864 – Born on the 17th of August in Denton, Texas, U.S.A.

1881 – He entered the Naval Academy on the 28th of September.

1885 – He graduated the Naval Academy on the 5th of June.

1887 – He was promoted to ensign on the 1st of July.

        – He began three years of duty in  Fishing Commission steamer.

1890 – He received instruction in new developments in naval ordnance at the Washington Navy Yard.

1894 – He returned to the United States and reported for duty at the Naval Academy.

1896 – His commission as lieutenant, junior grade, arrived on the 12th June .

1899 – He was  promoted as a lieutenant.

1899 – He returned to Annapolis to become aide to the superintendent of the Naval Academy.

1902 – He became aide to the commandant of the Navy Yard.

1904 – He won his commission as a lieutenant commander.

1908 – He was promoted to commander on the 15th of December.

1912 – He earned a captain’s commission.

1913 – He attended the short course at the Naval War College.

1915 – He appointed as Superintendent of the Naval Academy on the 1st of September.

1919 – He left Annapolis on the 30th of January to command the battleship divisions of the Atlantic Fleet.

1921 – He took command of the Pacific Fleet on the 30th of June.

1923 – He became Chief of Naval Operations.

1928 – He served on the General Board until retired on 9th of August.

1929 – He died on the 23rd of July in Washington, D.C., U.S.A.
