1683 – Caroline of Anspach was born.
1705-1714 – The daughter of the Margrave of Brandenburg-Anspach, she married George, Electoral Prince of Hannover, and followed him to England when his father became King George I.
– She was the patron of many leading writers and politicians such as Alexander Pope, John Gay, and the Earl of Chesterfield.
– She supported Sir Robert Walpole and kept him in power and acted as regent during her husband’s four absences.
1737 – Caroline of Anspach died.
