Aranha, Oswaldo Euclides de Souza

1894 – Born in Alegrete, State of Rio Grande do Sul. Brazilian diplomat and politician

1925 – Aranha started his public career as Mayor of his native town, and later on was elected representative in his State legislature.

1928 – He was also Federal representative for the State of Rio Grande do Sul and the Secretary of the Interior of the same state.

1930-1931 – Became the acting governor.

         – Mr. Aranha was chosen Minister of justice and Interior and Minister of Finance.

1934-1937 – He was majority leader of the Constituent Assembly and a member of the Commission which prepared the draft Constitution.

         – He was appointed Brazilian Ambassador to the United States.

1938 – He was Minister for External Relations.

1947-1948 – Was president of UN General Assembly.

1960 – He died in Rio de Janeiro.
